Alex is from the Houston Heights in East Texas. He has years of tutoring and mentorship experience across his high school and college career. This includes tutoring at his elementary school throughout high school and becoming a Fall ‘23 Ignite Fellow through Teach for America. He credits getting into the McCombs School of Business to his essays and debate experience. Because his statistics were slightly below average, fine-tuning his writing and assuring all his awards were properly listed and described was key in giving him a competitive edge. This means Alex is the ideal mentor if you are concerned about writing impactful essays and making sure you highlight all your credentials to their fullest extent.
Outside of class, Alex has an incredible mix of extracurriculars. He is an avid outdoorsmen and loves fishing, snowboarding, tubing, hiking, and much more. This love for the outdoors also has led him to spending 5 months as a sustainability consultant for Coca-Cola. Past that, he has internship experience in the fields of venture capital, technical consulting, and software engineering. If he isn’t working away or in the great outdoors, you can find him playing video games with friends or traveling the world.
