Marc Stoyer

Marc was born and raised in San Antonio Texas and spent time in Colorado before moving back to Austin to continue his education. Soon he will embark on a journey to the big apple, moving to NYC in the spring to finish his bachelor’s in economics and mathematics at Columbia University. He has experienced both sides of the mentor/mentee relationship throughout his academic career and as a result, has garnered a great understanding of how to cultivate young minds to reach their full potential. Having had the opportunity to work with students of all ages and having been a University of Texas Youth and Communities Studies Fellow during his time at Austin Community College, he has realized—not only the importance of helping others—but the joy there is to be had in doing so, just as his mentors did for him. Marc understands the “Hero’s Journey,” well, especially as it relates to school. Despite having had his fair share of ups and downs, he has nevertheless found a way to succeed. His path has truly been tried by fire, leading him to have an ingrained understanding of what does and what does not work. In working with Marc, we are sure you will instantly appreciate his maturity and professionalism as he uses his personal experiences and breadth of knowledge to guide parents and students alike on this worthwhile endeavor.

Beyond the walls of the classroom, you’ll be hard-pressed to find something Marc has yet to dip his toes in. Having spent time in Colorado he loves the outdoors be it hiking, climbing, cycling, or most recently skydiving! He has also been fortunate enough to hold full-time employment at a number of exemplary employers including Tesla, Google Fiber, and most recently interning as an AI Content Advisor at Dell Technologies this past Summer. One thing you’ll learn quickly about Marc is that he’s always pushing the envelope, and as such he expects both his lists of hobbies and experiences to keep on growing.
